Cad Technician / Curtain Wall Designer (Full-Time Position)

This position entails developing shop drawings and fabrication drawings for curtain wall and other exterior cladding.  Multiple opening are available.

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in curtain wall shop and/or fabrication drawings.
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of AutoCAD.  Experience in BIM is a plus.
  • Must be able to communicate, work independently and productively within a team environment. 
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, have good communication and grammar skills.
  • Must be able to read and understand technical specifications and construction drawings. 
  • Must be able to communicate with other members of the department on technical issues. 
  • Must be a US Citizen or person with a Green Card work permit.

  • Must have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in curtain wall shop and/or fabrication drawings.
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and experience with BIM.
  • Must have experience supervising complex projects to completion by directing subordinates and providing detailed direction and training.
  • Must coordinate the work of engineers in the department.
  • Must be able to review and comment on the work prepared by others.
  • Must excel in communication with clients.
  • Must be able to monitor and manage project finances. 
  • Must be able to communicate, work independently and productively within a team environment. 
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, have good communication and grammar skills.
  • Must be skilled in interpreting technical specifications and construction drawings.

Will work with the consultants to develop architectural details for exterior building enclosure systems using AutoCad and Revit. A successful candidate must have strong knowledge of AutoCad and be familiar with Revit.

  • Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, have good communication and grammar skills.
  • Must be able to read and understand technical specifications. 
  • Must be able to communicate with the Engineering department on technical issues. 
  • Must be able to work outdoors in the field observing installation on construction sites and perform tests for air and water infiltration.

National/international building envelope consultancy seeks highly motivated exterior wall consultant/Manager for Boston, MA office. 

Successful candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Depth of knowledge of aluminum-and-glass curtain wall systems; window systems; masonry; stone; precast concrete; or unitized/panelized façade systems featuring barrier wall, rain screen or pressure equalized performance capabilities; and have understanding in the use and application of sealants, flashings, thermal insulation, and air/water/vapor barrier materials within the systems listed above;
  • Be able to participate in local market development and cultivate new and existing client contacts within the Boston, New England and Northeastern region of the United States;
  • Be willing to collaborate with other Regional offices and Corporate office located in Dallas, Texas;
  • Be able to read and understand architectural and structural drawings, wind tunnel test reports and technical specifications;
  • Be able to work with clients and other consulting staff to develop new architectural details and/or remedial details and specifications for exterior building enclosure systems; 
  • Be able to work outdoors in the field observing installation on construction sites; performing existing wall condition surveys and performing diagnostic testing in accordance with industry standards;
  • Be able to communicate and work both independently and within a team environment;
  • Have excellent communication and writing skills;
  • Be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat Pro; and
  • Be willing to travel when required to do so.

The following qualifications are considered a plus, but not required:

  • Licensed (or working toward licensure)  Architect or Engineer;
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Revit;
  • Participation in National Standards Committees.
